Instructions

Find free software that downloads the Youtube Videos to your computer. There are several very good programs that search and download the Youtube Videos to your computer. Some popular ones are Youtube downloader and 1Click Youtube. Search on Google for the software and download.

Install the software. Start up the program. Most programs request you type in the name of the video you wish to download. Type in the name of the Youtube Video. The software searches the site and then downloads previews. You select one of the previews. The software downloads the video to your computer. Install the video on your desk top for quick access.

Click on the Youtube video to watch on your desktop. Note: Video’s are in flash. A flash player is required to watch the videos.

How to Download a Youtube Video as a MP4 File On Mac

Youtube videos can be used in video editing programs like Final Cut Pro, but there are several things you need to do to be able to do so.

Instructions

Get a free application for your mac called GetTube. It is the application we will use to download the videos. Install GetTube to your computer.

Open up GetTube. Once that is up, go to the top bar and click GetTube, and then Preferences.

Select your own destination, but choose MP4 as your output format. You probably should select the download in high quality button too. MP4 is a widely accepted video format that can be used with many video editing softwares.

Find the video that you want. It’s just like how you would use youtube normally. Once you find your video, click download at the bottom of the page. Give it a couple of minutes to download.

Once it is downloaded, find it in the destination that you specified in the preferences.
